Thermo Scientific Random Hexamer Primer is a mixture of single-stranded random hexanucleotides with 5'- and 3'-hydroxyl ends. The primer is supplied as a ready-to-use, 20X concentrated aqueous solution. Oligo(dT)18 Primer is a synthetic single-stranded 18-mer oligonucleotide with 5'- and 3'-hydroxyl ends. The primer is supplied as a ready-to-use, 20X concentrated aqueous solution.

Anchored Oligo-dT primers are specifically designed for synthesising long cDNAs from mRNAs carrying poly-A tails. Since this primer only anneals to the poly-A tail junction of the mRNA template, it eliminates transcription through the poly-A tail, providing more effective cDNA synthesis.
